Overview

Nutri Kasuri Methi consists of dried fenugreek leaves valued for their concentrated fragrance and distinctive savoury character. The delicate dried leaves provide earthy, gently bitter and subtly sweet-herbal notes that add depth to rich gravies, lentils and vegetable preparations. Kasuri Methi is different from Methi Dana. Kasuri Methi is the dried leaf of the fenugreek plant, while Methi Dana consists of its firm, strongly flavoured seeds. The two forms provide different textures, flavour intensity and culinary results and should not be substituted measure for measure. Use Kasuri Methi in curries, daal, paneer dishes, chicken and meat gravies, vegetables, marinades and bread dough. Lightly crushing the leaves between the palms immediately before use helps release their concentrated aroma.

Ingredients

Dried fenugreek leaves (Trigonella foenum-graecum).

Taste & Texture

Earthy, warmly herbal and distinctly aromatic with gentle bitterness, mild sweetness and a lingering savoury finish. The flavour is concentrated but does not provide chilli-like heat. The dried leaves are lightweight, delicate, crisp and flaky. They crumble easily when rubbed between the palms and soften as they absorb moisture in curries, sauces and other cooked preparations.

Dietary Information

A plant-based dried culinary herb suitable for vegetarian and vegan diets. Intended for measured use as a seasoning, flavouring and cooking ingredient.

Allergens

Packed in a facility that also handles tree nuts, peanuts, seeds and sesame.

Usage

Add Nutri Kasuri Methi gradually according to the selected recipe, as the dried leaves provide concentrated aroma and flavour. Take the required quantity and lightly rub or crush it between clean, dry palms before adding it to the dish. This breaks the leaves into finer flakes and releases their fragrance. For curries, daal, paneer and meat gravies, stir Kasuri Methi in during the final few minutes of cooking. Allow it to combine with the sauce without prolonged high-heat cooking. For marinades, bread dough and dry seasoning blends, crush the leaves before mixing so the flavour is distributed more evenly. Avoid adding excessive quantities, as too much Kasuri Methi may produce an overly bitter and dominant herbal flavour.

Serving Ideas

Use Kasuri Methi in butter chicken, chicken karahi-style gravies, qorma, keema, daal makhani and other rich curry preparations. Add it to paneer makhani, matar paneer, mixed vegetables, aloo dishes, mushrooms, chickpeas and lentils for deeper herbal character. Mix crushed Kasuri Methi into naan, paratha, roti, puri, savoury biscuits or bread dough. Combine it with yogurt, garlic, ginger, chilli and other preferred spices in chicken, meat, paneer or vegetable marinades. Stir a small quantity into creamy sauces, soups, kebab mixtures and homemade curry seasoning blends.
