Overview

Nutri Cloves (Laung) consist of whole dried flower buds valued for their concentrated aroma and bold warming flavour. Their distinctive nail-like form gradually releases deep spicy, woody and gently sweet notes during cooking, allowing a small quantity to add noticeable depth to both sweet and savoury preparations. Use Cloves (Laung) in biryani, pulao, qorma, yakhni, curries, chai, kehwa, desserts and homemade spice blends. They may be tempered briefly in oil or ghee, simmered in cooking liquids, or lightly crushed when a quicker and more pronounced flavour release is preferred.

Ingredients

Whole dried clove flower buds (Syzygium aromaticum).

Taste & Texture

Intensely aromatic and warmly spiced with pronounced pungency, gentle sweetness, woody depth and a slightly bitter finish. The whole buds are firm, dry and nail-shaped, with a hard texture that softens only slightly during cooking. Crushing or grinding the Cloves (Laung) releases a stronger aroma and more immediate flavour.

Dietary Information

A plant-based whole spice suitable for vegetarian and vegan diets. Intended for measured use as a flavouring, seasoning, brewing or cooking ingredient.

Allergens

Packed in a facility that also handles tree nuts, peanuts, seeds and sesame.

Usage

Add Nutri Cloves (Laung) gradually according to the selected recipe, as their aroma and flavour are naturally concentrated. Temper the whole buds briefly in warm oil or ghee before adding the remaining ingredients, or simmer them directly in rice, stock, gravy, milk, tea or syrup. Use the Cloves (Laung) whole when convenient removal before serving is preferred. Lightly crush or grind them when a stronger and more evenly distributed flavour is required. Avoid prolonged frying over high heat, as burning may create an excessively bitter flavour.

Serving Ideas

Use Cloves (Laung) to prepare chicken biryani, mutton pulao, beef yakhni, qorma, nihari-style gravies and slow-cooked curries. Add them to daal, chickpea dishes, soups, stocks and pickles for deeper aromatic character. Simmer a small quantity in masala chai, doodh patti, kehwa, warm milk or spiced beverages. Use them in kheer, rice pudding, syrups, stewed fruit, cakes, biscuits and other sweet preparations. Combine Cloves (Laung) with cinnamon, cardamom, black pepper, Tez Patta and other preferred spices in homemade garam masala and whole-spice blends.
